An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
